2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder

When you spend nearly all your free time at 10/10, carving apexes and late-braking in a fully prepped race car, it makes sense that you’d want a street car that’s equal parts style and speed. Glenview, Illinois, resident Steve Jenkins is a full-time driver, running 4 Feathers Racing and campaigning Cayman S racers in both the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge GS with BGB Motorsports Group, and a second car in a Limited HSR Cayman Interseries Schedule.

Jenkins’ weekday driver is the 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder you see pictured here. For the uninitiated, the Spyder is a lighter, faster version of the standard Boxster S. Highlights include a 176-pound weight loss, aluminum trunk lid and doors, carbon-fiber seats, fabric door latch pulls and a sleek buttressed two-piece top. The 3.4L direct-injected flat-six produces 320 horsepower at 7200 rpm, the suspension has been lowered nearly an inch and new anti-roll bars and a quicker steering rack round out the package.

Since weight is a critical issue for the Spyder, Jenkins added a set of HRE forged Monoblok P43 wheels finished in satin black, measuring 19×8.5″ in front and 19×10.5″ rear. We love the look and are eager to see more of these gorgeous cars on the road.
