Fall Line Motorsports Takes Its M3′s to Top Ten Finishes at Barber

The Fall-Line Motorsports team spent the first weekend of April at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama and had an exciting race weekend. The 2.3 mile, 17-turn scenic track at Birmingham, Alabama proved to be a challenging, eventful race.

“There were plenty of highs and lows this weekend,” said team owner and driver, Mark Boden, who raced with a shoulder injury from a recent skiing accident. “I’m thrilled with our forth place finish in No. 46 Fall-Line Motorsports BMW M3. It was my personal best finish in the series. We were running in third place until the last lap. My teammate, Tonis Kasemets, did a stellar job.”

Al Carter and Hugh Plumb campaigned the No. 45 Fall-Line Motorsports BMW M3 and experienced plenty of drama throughout the weekend. On Friday, Carter qualified third but unfortunately the team discovered a problem in the engine after qualifying and decided to change the motor. “A miss-shift during my qualifying lap not only cost me a few tenths of a second needed for the pole, it put a heavy rev load on our motor,” explained Carter.

“This weekend was quite the roller coaster of race weekends,” said Plumb. “Al did a great job being patient and diagnosing an engine problem within his forty minute stint. The Fall-Line guys did an amazing job getting me back in the race by keeping me in pit lane just long enough not to go a lap down while continuing to work on the problem with the car. The crew of the Fall-Line Motorsports No. 45 BePositive.org BMW will continue our fight for the championship and we will be back more motivated than ever in one month in Virginia” said Plumb.

“I’m very proud of the Fall-Line crew in helping us score top ten positions while dealing with an untested motor for the No. 45 car. It’s a testament to our team’s talent and perseverance,” says Boden. The race airs on April 16 at 2:00pm ET on the SPEED Channel.
