Wing Auto from Japan sent over a few pictures on its latest customer car, a really slick Mercedes Benz R350. The R350 in the US is available in two engine packages, a 3.5L Petrol engine or the blueTEC version that comes with a 3.0L Diesel engine. Both come with the 4matc all wheel drive system. The interior just, like any Merc, is plush with all the creature comforts.

This particular owner opted to bolt on a set of forged HRE P40L Monoblok wheels, which we think gives the big cruiser a decidedly cooler stance and overall look.

GITTIN LEADS THE FORMULA D POINTS RACE AFTER VEGAS

Third place finish keeps the HRE-Equipped Monster Energy Mustang Driver on Top

The Formula Drift Las Vegas event at Las Vegas Motorsports Park was one for the record books. Over the two-day event more than ten thousand spectators decided to come out and enjoy the festivities while over 300,000 viewers tuned in on the live drift steam over the Internet. Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s 2011 Mustang 5.0, which rolls on forged HRE Wheels, performed flawlessly and propelled the affable drifting star to another podium finish.

Vaughn was sitting first in qualifying for nearly the entire day until a few passes from competing drivers dropping him to the 5th qualifying spot. In the top 32 Vaughn was paired up with a good friend Brian Wilkerson which was a great battle ending with Vaughn moving forward.

After the top 16 ceremonies, Vaughn was paired up with fellow Drift Alliance driver Ryan Tuerck. On Ryan’s lead run he came in super hot, leading to him spinning. With Ryan’s spin, Vaughn moved on to the Great 8, where Gittin was matched against up and coming rookie of the year contender Charles Ng. After a good battle the senior driver came out on top.

On to the Top 4, where Vaughn faced off with his season nemesis Daijiro Yoshihara. While Vaughn’s lead run was very strong, he was a little behind on his chase run leading to push too hard and correcting after tapping the wall. Daijiro won the round forcing Vaughn to fight for the last spot on the podium with Tony Brakohiapa.

The battle for third was set, Vaughn Gittin Jr. vs Tony Brakonhiapa. This is the first time Tony has been this deep into competition causing to a get a little overzealous and on his chase run he ended up hitting Vaughn with his front bumper causing him to almost stop on course. The judge’s decision was easy, Vaughn takes 3rd place.

After the race Gittin explained that he was delighted with the results and he still sits on top of the points standings for the season.

Bentley Continental GT Supersport

BMW 335i

The team at Wheels Boutique sent this beautiful, incredibly clean 335i our way and we were impressed by the purity of design. No kits, No brakes, simply “less is more.” This alpine white BMW 335i has been fitted with custom forged HRE 895R wheels with brushed aluminum centers and a chrome lip, measuring 20×9″ in front and 20×10.5″ rear. Tires are Pirelli P Zero and the stance has been enhanced with help from H&R springs, with the help of H&R springs.

Japanese Mercedes G500

Wing Auto of Japan sent us these photos of a customer’s Mercedes G500. Rare in the U.S. and even scarcer in Japan, the G500 is a high performance SUV with a Merc pedigree. This Wing G500 has a set of HRE 949R custom forged wheels measuring 20×9″ front and rear, finished in satin black.

Porsche 997 Turbo

Our friends at Vivid Racing put together an HRE wheel and tire package for a customer in Connecticut. The overall stance of this 997 Turbo has been improved with the addition of Bilstein coilovers for improved handling and a killer stance. The wheels are forged HRE 843R finished in Satin Charcoal measuring 20×9″ front and 20×12″ rear, and they were custom made to fit over the big Porsche turbo factory brake calipers.

2010 Audi S5

503 Motoring recently sent us some shots of this stunning 2010 Audi S5 project. The low-slung Audi coupe has been completely wrapped with an overlay film that allows the stock paint color to shine through while giving it a satin texture. H&R coilovers lower the all-wheel-drive S5 over a staggered set of forged HRE 20″ 590R wheels with brushed finished centers and chrome lips.

Underground Racing’s F430 Wild Ride Video

Underground Racing builds incredible top-speed machines that have been dominating
the flying mile circuit, thanks to precise engineering and a penchant for packaging turbo
systems into very tight quarters. Their twin turbo kit for the Ferrari F430 bumps the stock
490 hp an astronomical 1000hp. Underground Racing just released a fantastic new
video of a twin turbo F430 verses a Lamborghini LP-570 Superleggera, and the Lambo
didn’t stand a chance. Check out the cool shot of the HRE Forged Monoblok P47 wheels
on the last part of the video as a sensor aberration makes the P47s look like something
out of a sci-fi film. Underground chooses HRE because their supercars demand the

2010 Nissan GT-R

The 2010 GT-R comes from the factory with 485 hp. This particular Nissan GT-R has a full Greddy Turbo upgrade which can boost the horsepower numbers to a staggering 700 whp. When you’re producing that much power unsprung mass and rotational inertia can play a huge role at maximum velocity, so the owner of this car elected to go with a set of lightweight forged HRE wheels to improve both looks and performance. Wheels Boutique fitted the car with custom forged HRE 560R wheels measuring 20×10″ Front, 20×11.5″ rear with gunmetal grey centers and chrome lips wrapped in Toyo R888 rubber.

NISEI Week Showoff Car Show 2010

There were plenty of HRE equipped exotics at NISEI, one of the largest import car shows on the West Coast that celebrates Japanese culture in Los Angeles

For those not familiar, NISEI is an annual cultural exhibition that showcases Japanese heritage with a series of events, demonstrations, shows and culinary tours. This year the show was in downtown Los Angeles and included what is rapidly becoming one of the nation’s premiere import car shows. The 11th Annual Nisei Week Showoff Car Show was held August 14th, 2010 in Little Tokyo and included a wide variety of high-end import show and race cars, including late-model supercars, drift cars and Japanese classics. Cars were judged on functionality, build quality and form, with the winner receiving a six foot trophy and a $1,000 prize, and the runner-up received $500 and a five foot trophy. Over 350 cars showed up, and our good friend and ace photographer John Zhang covered the event.
