A few weeks ago Alan and Lon from HRE boarded a plane for Shanghai to meet with a dealer and attend a wild event in the fastest growing supercar market in the world – China. One of the biggest surprises of the Shanghai trip was the absolutely jaw-dropping number of ultra-exotics roaming the streets. The SIC Club Challenge event was held at World Stage Racing, located at the Shanghai F1 Circuit. The cars that turned out on the new F1 track included the rarest rides on earth, and we found their owners to be gregarious, outgoing and completely passionate about their vehicles.

Most of the super car owners in China were parts of larger car clubs. The group consisted of vehicles that you typically only see on posters in bedrooms around the World: two Zonda F’s, two Zonda R’s, a new Koenigsegg Agera, several Bugatti Veyrons, an Aston Martin One-77… and the list continues on. It isn’t often that you see such a valuable collection of cars anywhere, not to mention on a race track.

Among the crowd, we were proud to see several sets of HRE Wheels on a variety of vehicles and look forward to showing off our latest designs and expanding our footprint in China’s growing car culture. Events like this are the perfect way to see what is really happening in the car scene all over the world and to make connections with a region that clearly has the “supercar bug” like the rest of us.
