New 750HP Gumpert Apollo S

The new 2010 Apollo S gains 50 horsepower, a sequential gearbox and HRE Monoblok wheels

The latest German-built Gumpert Apolo supercar made its debut at the 80th Geneva Motor Show, and the new “S” model features an upgrade from 700 to 750 horsepower thanks to new engine controls and improved cooling systems, as well as a new F1 inspired sequential gearbox that shifts the transmission with rocker switches on the steering wheel. Designed for maximum performance, a standard non-S model Apolo recently lapped the Nuerbrgring in 7:11.57, a new record. When it comes to wheels, Gumpert engineers demand minimum unsprung weight, maximum strength and incredible durability under extreme performance conditions – which is why every Apolo S comes with HRE Monoblok forged aluminum pin-drive racing wheels made specifically to Gumpert’s specifications.

Other improvements include LED daytime running lights and revised aerodynamics. In the course of reducing the vehicle’s drag coefficient, the front and tail now have a significantly more striking and forceful design, making the Apolo seem more aggressive. Other upgrades for the S include a completely re-designed flap-controlled exhaust system with quad tail pipes and a considerably improved CD/DVD player sound system and a central flashlight for motor racing on the redesigned tail.
