WORLD Racing debuts new Unlimited Class Time Attack Race

Chris Rado shows off his new Team Need for Speed World Racing AWD Scion, complete with HRE Competition wheels

A few weeks ago we were invited by the World Racing team to come down for a shop tour, and they let us shoot video of their entire shop and the vehicles in it, ranging from Chris Rado’s street car – a James Bond like Scion with smoke screen and oil slick dispensers – to the team’s winged wonder time attack car and a new V8 powered Supra flying mile warrior. All of Chris’ cars feature HRE custom forged wheels. We were also told about a top secret fabrication shop East of Los Angeles where the World team was building something new and very wild, and what we found there has now been revealed to the world as a batmobile-esque supercar built specifically by the team to conquer one of the last remaining unlimited racing arenas: Unlimited Class Time Attack.

What started life as a Scion tC is now equipped with extremely advanced aerodynamics, a fully carbon fiber body kit, active all wheel drive, massive turbochargers and a gold plated firewall. Yes, you read that right, a gold plated firewall for heat resistance without adding significant weight. The engine is producing in excess of 1100 crankshaft horsepower, and the wheels are custom made forged HRE Competition units put together with titanium hardware.

Fittingly, the car will debut this weekend at Road Atlanta, while at the same time high-powered aero machines are also running at Bonneville Speedweek in Utah, a place where this extreme supercar would certainly fit in. We appreciate the World/NFS team’s continued support and loyalty to HRE, and can’t wait to see how the car does in its first race.
