Davenport Works Its Magic on a ZR1

April 12th, 2012

Davenport Motorsports is always churning out some sort of high horsepower build from its shop in Calgary. When a customer brought them a white Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, they took an already powerful car and turned it into a stunning torque monster. The ZR1 comes from the factory with 638 horsepower on tap, but the owner felt the need to push the envelope quite a bit with an assortment of parts from the folks at Lingenfelter.

To let the 6.2 V8 breathe with little resistance, a Lingenfelter cold air intake was installed along with a ported supercharger snout and headers from American Racing. More power was freed up thanks to LF's upper pulley kit, CNC'd cylinder heads, ugraded valve springs and retainers and Lingenfelter's larger intercooler.

The ride height was brought down 3 inches in the front and 4 in the back to wrap the fenders around a perfectly matched set of Satin Bronze HRE P40SC forged wheels. After a custom dyno tune the car made an impressive 775 horsepower and 853 ft/lbs of torque. The customer's goal is to achieve an even 800 hp and we are confident the guys at Davenport can make it happen. Great build guys.
